Stuck Circuit Breaker Switch
One of the circuit board switches in my home is stuck in the neautral
position and can go to the on position but doesnt work and doesnt stay
there bc it snaps back to neautral, and cannot go completely to the off
position bc its stuck in that neutral position. The circuit
controls a couple appliaces in my house and all the other switches work. l
tried unplugging the iteams and seeing the switch but it is still stuck in
the middle. What do l do?
Do you know how to RESET a breaker? In the OFF position, u
have to snap it back more til u hear a click, than u snap it back to
ON.than u should have power. If it pop again, than it is a sign that
there is a short somewhere in that circuit. If u don't hear a snap when u
push the knob further on the OFF side.than u have to buy another breaker to
replace the broken one. Electricians usually test the breakers with a
electrical tester. By reseting the breaker & test for continuity.

Replace this but make sure nothing else is cause this do trip
back to it is middle position.
You need to replace the breaker, they do wear out and fail over
the years.
the breaker is shot......no hope....you can only replace it
I would replace the circuit breaker with a new one. It is
fairly inexpensive & easy to replace. If it still pops with all it is load
disconnected I would suspect the wiring, i.e. the hot wire (black wire)
shorted to either neutral (white) or ground (green). I would check all
outlets & switches that use this circuit breaker for defect. Disconnect
all black wires from all outlets & switches that use this breaker. If it
still pops the circuit breaker, it has to be in the house wiring for this circuit. Use of romex currently used are not damage proof since it has plastic insulation & if they are exposed like in ur attic, you can easily step on them & damage it, possibly shorting.
The breaker needs to replaced. If that one dosen't turn off
then turn the main breaker off, then replace the other breaker .You
shouldn't have any problems,just be careful.
